Chris is a master’s student in Climate & Society at the Columbia Climate School. He grew up in Los Angeles and received his Bachelor’s degree from Cal Poly, San Luis Obispo in City & Regional Planning. His interest in climate action and justice stems from an undergraduate studio course, where he analyzed air-quality issues and their corresponding negative public health impacts on a heavily-polluted community in Los Angeles County. His work experience is in city, environmental, and transportation planning in the public and non-profit sectors. He is most interested in translating climate science into context-based solutions and equitable outcomes. At AC4, he is working with the Environment, Peace, and Sustainability team to assist with research on conservation and governance, food systems, conflict-sensitive early warning systems, and other topics related to the environmental peacebuilding nexus.
