Andrea Bartoli

Senior Associate Research Scholar

Dr. Andrea Bartoli is the President of the Sant’Egidio Foundation for Peace and Dialogue - SFPD . He works primarily on peacemaking, genocide prevention and nuclear disarmament.  In addition to his role at the Advanced Consortium on Cooperation, Conflict and Complexity AC4 at Columbia University, he is a member of the Steering Group of the Global Action Against Mass Atrocity Crimes - GAAMAC, the Executive Advisor of the Soka Institute for Global Solutions - SIGS at the Soka University of America - SUA

Dr. Bartoli has been a member of the Community of Sant’Egidio since 1970 (here.) He has been its Representative to the UN and the USG since 1992. He was the Convener of the Genocide Prevention Advisory Network - GPANet; the Dean of the School of Conflict Analysis and Resolution at George Mason University (now the Carter School) and of the School of Diplomacy at Seton Hall University. He was also the Founding Director of the Center for International Conflict Resolution (CICR) at the School of International and Public Affairs, Columbia University.
