About the Interview Series
The Cooperative Nuclear Disarmament and Sustainability Initiative (CNDSI) has launched a series of recorded conversations with individuals who have played direct roles in nuclear disarmament and cooperative security.
It will focus on Megatons to Megawatts (M2M)—the landmark U.S.–Russia program that converted weapons-grade uranium into civilian fuel. These interviews help preserve experience-based knowledge and extend the intergenerational dialogue CNDSI fosters.

- Giorgio Gratta — July 23, 2026: Ray Lyman Wilbur Professor of Physics at Stanford University; experimental particle physicist and neutrino researcher.
- Peter Passell — July 29, 2026: Economist and former New York Times reporter.
- Daniel Poneman — September 4, 2026: Special Assistant, National Security Council (1989-93), Deputy Secretary of Energy (2009-14).
These interviews contribute to CNDSI’s growing oral history collection, documenting diverse perspectives and experiences relevant to nuclear policy, science, and security.
